Black Children's Book Week
Black Children’s Book Week (BCBW) is a national celebration of books that celebrate Black children, families, and joy. Growing book joy and love of reading supports our children as whole humans, as well as their reading skills and success in all academic areas. This is why your support is so important!
The 313Reads coalition is excited to be growing the second year of Detroit’s celebration of BCBW! Join us in celebrating our children by showering them with an extra dose of book joy and the power of seeing themselves celebrated in children’s books.
We invite community-based organizations and individuals to join the celebration: parents, caregivers, educators, librarians, schools, after-school programs, faith-based programs, businesses, authors, illustrators, publishers, and other advocates for our children.
